Meditation

Many studies have shown that meditation has a beneficial effect on the body. Lower blood pressure, improved concentration, reduced anxiety, better sleep, a boosted immune system, and less sensitivity to pain have all been linked to meditative practices. Meditation has been shown to lower cortisol – or stress hormone – levels. This reduces the toll such hormones take on our bodies.

To me, meditation doesn’t mean “turning off” your everyday, human thoughts. It’s more a matter of letting your thoughts pass by, and not conversing with them. As you practice meditation consistently, you begin to find that the quiet between thoughts gets longer. This allows room for inspiration from your higher self.

Guided meditation is a great way to start a meditation practice. It’s also fun for experienced meditators to mix things up with a guided meditation once in a while! Find my free guided meditations here.
