Recharge Your Heart Chakra

In the dead of winter, I deeply miss the color green. Gone are the lush leaves and green grass. In their place are brown branches and white snow. This wintry lack of color gives me the blues.

winter colorlessness

With green being the traditional color of the heart chakra, and the lack of green bringing me down, I decided to try something: I’d infuse green into my life in order to give myself an emotional boost. I think of this as “recharging my heart chakra.” Here are a few things that work for me:

  1. Meditate with houseplants: I don’t have the greenest of thumbs, but I do have a few houseplants that are hanging in there. I’ve been sitting near them during some of my meditations, and can feel a heightened frequency coming from them. It makes me very happy!
  2. Use fresh mint: Pick up some fresh mint from the grocery store and use it any way you’d like. It’s lovely when muddled in ice water; both the scent and flavor lift my spirits. If you can find a small mint plant to bring home and nurture, you can cover both 1 and 2 on this list!
  3. Meditate with green crystals: Malachite and aventurine are my go-to green crystals, but use whatever feels right to you!

Quantum Field Healing Meditation

My quantum field healing meditation is now available here. This process has the potential to help with both physical and emotional discomforts. It can help boost your healing process at the microscopic level.

Authenticity

“Be your authentic self.”

You hear that a lot around metaphysical, new age-y circles. It sounds catchy and wise, but what does it really mean?

To me, it simply means to drop what others want you to be and live from your heart. Follow what you truly want to do (and be) without filtering yourself through societal and familial expectations.

heart lead

If you’re around someone who isn’t being true to who they really are – or is so caught up in trying to “fit in” that they have no idea who they really are – they give off a distinctly disquieting energy. Something just feels off with them. It’s not pleasant to be around. And it’s certainly not a healthy way to live. I’ve spent much of this life trying to please others, often sacrificing what/who I was inside in order to do so. I’m done with that. It no longer fits.

If you’re around people who lack authenticity, it’s really okay to withdraw from them. You don’t have to subject yourself to the negative energy that they generate. And if you’re confused about your own authentic self (no judgment here; I’ve been there), try this:

Find a quiet place and close your eyes or soften your gaze. Take a moment to let your thoughts settle down. Focus on your breath as it moves in and out. Feel your own energy moving through your body. Now imagine your awareness moving from your head to your heart. Once you are in your heart space, ask yourself, “What do I want? What brings me joy? What am I passionate about?” Let your heart provide the answers. Let this guide you toward your own authenticity.

Jesus Is My City

At this special time of year, I find my thoughts turning to Ascended Master Jesus. He came here to lead humanity into a new era. Interpretations of this have varied greatly, but most recognize His message of unconditional love.

So what does this have to do with a city? In a Biblical sense, a “city” refers to the inside of a human, where truth and love comingle. The “city wall” is the faith protecting one’s innermost feelings. Another name for this energetic and emotional boundary is the aura, or the energy field generated by a living creature.

What happens, then, when you hold your aura tightly to you, protecting your feelings almost fiercely? In the act of holding on so tight, we in effect close our heart chakra off. In protecting it, we actually prevent ourselves from giving and receiving love.

During meditations, I’ve been sensing the loving, comforting presence of Ascended Master Jesus. So I asked Him for a message to help me on my path. I heard this lyric:

Let my love open the door to your heart.

Simple advice, yet very powerful. And very timely. In the midst of your shopping and wrapping and cooking and cleaning, not to mention the seemingly endless work, school, and family events that fill this time of year, remember one little thing: let Jesus into your heart.

Let Him fill your city, your inner world. Let His unconditional love open your heart to all the wonders of this beautiful season.

The Good In A Challenge

I’ve reached a point in this life where I kind of enjoy a challenge. Sounds weird, right? Challenges used to totally stress me out. Even small problems nagged at me; big ones made me obsess over them to the point of making myself physically ill. So how did this turn around? I’ve come to see a challenge as an opportunity for growth. And it’s not quite as simple as “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

I’m an eternal soul, just like you. Before I incarnated, I chose which challenges to take on in this lifetime. It’s not that I made a strict plan for this life, but more of a rough outline. Things will come up, my path may meander here and there, but the overall journey will include the lessons I chose to learn this time around.

With that awareness in mind, challenges take on a whole new meaning. When one pops up, I’m like, “Cool! What do I get to learn this time?” Being in the midst of a challenge isn’t always pleasant, admittedly, but the expanded awareness that results is worth the effort.

The Waves of Change Keep Rolling

Wow, what a month it’s been so far! Have you noticed the waves of energy rolling across our planet, bringing changes big and small? In my little corner of the world, change is making quite the manifestation – I’ll be leaving The Barn at the end of October. While I make space to see where my mission takes me, I’ll maintain Calluna Wellness as a place for free guided meditations and a conduit to free distant healing.

You’ve each touched my life, for which I am so grateful. Many, many thanks to Erin Whiting and Soleil Wellness for supporting my awakening process. Although I’m moving along on my path, the spirit of The Barn will always be a part of me.

Sending so much love & light & gratitude to you all,

Heather

Free Distant Healing

I’m so happy to share that I’ve been accepted into the Distant Healing Network as a Volunteer Healer. This worldwide organization has been around since 1996. Their mission is to help heal the world – one person at a time. I love the way they describe “payment” for these services:

“This service is free and without obligation. We would appreciate a note by email after a healing is received. You might like to send your blessings our way, too – or maybe plant a tree, visit a nursing home, or take your granny some cookies – just do a random act of kindness. That will be your payment in full.”

If you would like to request distant healing for yourself or someone you know – or even a pet – visit the DHN website and fill out the appropriate request form.

May your life be full of blessings!

Embracing Change

One thing I’ve learned as a human on this planet: life is all about change. Moving with the flow, rather than fighting it, can enhance the ease and joy of your life experiences.

In the spirit of embracing change, I’ve decided to shift the way I deliver Reiki Training services. I’m eliminating the class schedule that was previously published, and will instead move to one-on-one training sessions. You’ll no longer have to wait for a class, but can book a Reiki Training session whenever you feel called to do so.

I’m still available for small group Reiki Training sessions. If you have a group of friends, family members, or co-workers who’d like to train together, let me know using my contact form. We’ll find a time that works for everyone.

My Reiki Training sessions will continue to be held at The Barn, 2011 Bennett Road, Victor, NY.

Thank you for moving with me through these waves of change!
