Releasing Expectations (of others)

If I could
Maybe I’d give you my world
How can I
When you won’t take it from me

We have ideas of how people should be – everyone, but especially those we’re close to. They should do this, they should let us do that, they should give this, they should accept that.

What if we released all those shoulds? What if we stopped trying to change them and just allowed them to be who they are? And if who they are doesn’t align with who we are, let them go their own way?

Relating to people out of love and truth, and not out of image or obligation – wouldn’t this be lovely?

We’re all connected. If we give each other the freedom to be who we truly are, humanity might just start to heal.
